Tip of the Week - Tell the Truth

If you don’t know what to say in court… simply tell the truth. While things may not always go your way the truth is what it is. Your attorney is always prepared for the truth regarding a matter to come out and can generally deal with almost any situation. Lying, attempt to deceive or being evasive in court is obvious to everyone in the courtroom and is not only frowned upon but you can be referred for criminal prosecution. In addition, if you lawyer finds out that you lied they are ethically bound to correct that lie/falsity with the court pursuant to attorney ethical rules of conduct under most situations.
